Mustard pot, round, with separate lid and a separate inner container made of blue glass. The curved body rests on a strongly rejuvenating foot on a straight-walled, indented base adorned with intersecting wave lines made of trembling stitch. A beaded edge is applied where the base indents. The body is cut open with a pattern of laurel leaves adorned in various engraving stitches, above which bands and open circles meet, closed at the top by a broad band, adorned with a continuous pattern of a wavy band, swung with a laurel wreath, on a roughened ground. The pot has high wing-shaped ears with straight tops. The curved lid is cut open with trembled crackers and is closed at the top by bay leaves. The lid is crowned by a flame-shaped button. In the lower edge of the lid, also decorated with a trembling stitch, there is a rectangular recess into which the (lost) mustard spoon could be inserted., Martinus van Stapele, The Hague, 1787, mosterdpot, binnenbak, h 16.4 cm × w 12.8 cm × d 8.0 cm × w 200 gr
