In the penal camp at Vught, 7000 Dutch collaborators and traitors are locked up. Soldiers of the Dutch Stoottroepen are in charge of the security, especially of the 300 Dutch SS men. Led by the camp commander, Major L. Mennes, and his aides, these prisoners are used to clear the area around Vught of land mines, among other things. They were dressed in the blue and white striped prison suits of the former Dutch prisoners captured by the Germans. The prisoners are given the minimum civilian ration, which has also been reduced because all the delicacies have been taken away.
