In the penal camp at Vught, where the Germans and their accomplices tried for years in vain to break the Dutch people's power, about 7000 Dutch collaborators and traitors are now locked up. Soldiers of the Dutch Stoottroepen are in charge of the surveillance, especially of the 300 Dutch S.S. men, who have put on the treasonous German soldier's suit. Under the leadership of the camp commander, Major L. Mennes and his aides, these prisoners are used to clear the area around Vught of land mines, among other things. They were dressed in blue and white striped prison overalls, the same overalls used under the German regime to dress the good patriots who had the misfortune to fall into the hands of the Germans. The prisoners were given the minimum civilian ration, which was further reduced because all delicacies were taken off.
