Meeting held in the Ridderzaal from 18 to 21 January 1651, convened after the death of Prince William II on 6 November 1650. Flags and banners captured from the enemy hang from the ceiling. A metal flap is attached to the painting. In this picture the flap has been opened so that the large assembly is visible. In the foreground is a table with books, an hourglass and an inkstand. On the table a rug with the motto 'Concordia res parvae crescunt'. Photo pasted on a cardboard with the names of the makers, collection (Das Königliche Museum in Haag), etc. Probably part of a series of photographs (no. 40) of paintings in the Mauritshuis, The Hague., Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl (mentioned on object), after: Anthonie Palamedesz.
