Pot That Contained a Donkey (12b-k), Second Intermediate Period–Early New Kingdom, Dynasty 13–18, ca. 1991–1450 B.C., From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Deir el-Bahri, Temple of Hatshepsut Temenos area, Carnarvon/Carter excavations, 1906–11, Pottery, coarse light ware, H. 10.4 cm × Diam. 9.7 cm (4 1/8 × 3 13/16 in.), While excavating on behalf of Lord Carnarvon in the area of Hatshepsut's temple, Howard Carter uncovered this small pot. Inside was a clay donkey carrying sacks of grain on its back (12b–k).
