Saucer Dish, Saucer-dish with music making women and scenes from 'The Journey to the West', Saucer of porcelain with rounded wall, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze blue, red, green, yellow, eggplant, black and gold. On the flat in a medallion three women playing music in an enclosed garden; around this medallion variously shaped cartouches with scenes from the Xiyou Ji, 'The Journey to the West', against a ground of napkin work; the rim with flower rosettes in a cartouche with on either side a ruyi motif alternating with various geometric patterns. The reverse with three flower branches. Marked on the bottom with an artemisia leaf in a double circle. One chip and two cracks to the rim. Old label on the bottom with 'A.
