In the center, the Amsterdam City Virgin flanked by two lions. On her head the crown of cities, above it an eagle with the imperial crown. On her breast the three andreas crosses. In her hands a palm branch symbolizing victory, fame and peace and an olive branch symbolizing peace. To her left Minerva, goddess of wisdom. To the right, a female personification of Strength, holding Hercules' lion skin and a sword-like object. To the left and right, four putti with attributes of dual significance. On the left, a putto holding a horn of plenty as a symbol of prosperity and the element Earth. To the right, a putto with Mercury's winged helmet and caduceus as a symbol of commerce and the element Air (the winged helmet). To the right, a putto with a rudder symbolizing good government and the element Water. To the left, a putto holding a staff with the all-seeing eye as a symbol of good justice and the element Fire.
