The award-winning city virgin wears a draped gown and leans with a left hand on a shield with Leiden city coat of arms and in the raised right hand she has a laurel wreath. The statue is on a wooden pillar-shaped pedestal with cartouche, commissioned by The City Council of Leijden to Jhr. Mr. J.N. van Puttkammer Secretary of the Municipality for 25 years, 1888
