A Sepulchral monument of Henry Cardinal York (1725-1807) and Charles Edward Stuart, the “Young Pretender” (1720-1788), Unknown, Pencil, pen and ink, brush and wash, Chinese ink, The cardinal seated at the left holds the right arm of his brother who is clad in the attire of a classical warrior, and points with his right forefinger to heaven. The group is displayed on top of a sepulchral chamber against the convex back wall of a side chapel. Upon the chamber lean “CHARITY” with three children, at left “WAR” holding a sword and trampling of the tablets of the Law and a pair of scales at right.
