This is Stradanus's preliminary drawing for a print (pl. 36) in the Venationes Ferarum, Avium, Piscium series, engraved by Jan Collaert II and published in Antwerp by Philips Galle. The finished drawing is at the Louvre (Musée du Louvre, Paris , inv./cat.nr 20.497).
