The charioteer has his right arm raised with the crop (Greek Kentron), with his left he holds the reins. Under the front legs of the horses there is a trident to the right, in front of it a Σ. In the section there is the inscription 'Philippou'. The representation on the back refers to wagon victories of the Macedonian King Philipp II. (r. 359-336 B.C.) in Olympia. The coin probably originates from the Amphipolis mint and was minted during the reign of Antipater, Polyperchon or Cassander in the succession of Alexander the Great.
