Strip of bobbin lace with a flower stem alternated by a drop-shaped leaf, Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, old-Flemish lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a downward bent stem with an oval-shaped flower clamped between two leaves at the end. Along the underside of the strip, the flower touches the beginning of an ever-widening, drop-shaped leaf, which then again touches the next flower stalk. The motifs are connected by a lattice ground, a five-hole ground. The motifs are made in linen strokes with open-worked edges, with a net blow filling applied in the drop-shaped leaf, with a configuration of four snowflakes. In the oval-shaped flower, a finer snow ground was used as ornamental ground. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, with the bottom edge provided with picots., anonymous, Southern Netherlands, c. 1700 - c. 1749, linen (material), old Flemish lace, l 32 cm × w 2.5 cm ×, 9 cm
