Strip of bobbin lace with three rosette flowers and a three-lobed leaf as scalloped edge, Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: fine Bruges flower work. The repeating pattern consists along the bottom edge of three angled oval rosette flowers and a large three-lobed leaf. Above each of the three rosette flowers is a curved stem with two rosette hips at one end and a kink in the stem at the other end and a rosette flower facing the rose hips at the end. From this rosette flower, several leaves and smaller rosette flowers spring. Above each scallop formed by the three-lobed leaf, a rosette flower hangs down from a curved stem. The motifs are connected by a picotized braid ground. The motifs are made in netted and linen stitch, with openwork edges and cut-outs. The motifs have thin to very thick contour threads and bobbled relief contours. In some of the openwork petals or flower hearts, blocks are made in form stitch or linen stitch.
