Strip of needle lace with ovals on tops and valleys of wavy leaves, natural strip of needle lace: Argentan lace. The strip was part of an engeagante and is narrowed on the left. The largely repeating pattern consists of a regularly wavy leaf branch, with three ovals at the highest and lowest points of each wave. A flower branch always hangs down under each golf top. A large flower branch hangs down from the top of the strip in every golf valley. The flower branches differ from each other. The motifs are made up of festival stitches with recesses as decoration and with embossed contours. The wavy branch has a ladder pattern. The motifs are connected by a hexagonal ground of funded mesh, an Argentan ground. A flat scallop edge is formed by a flower garland, which forms pointed oval cartouches at regular intervals in which various decorative grounds are used. The top of the strip is finished straight with a clotted strap., anonymous, Argentan, c. 1760 - c. 1770, Argentan lace, l 108 cm × w 7.6 cm ×, 10 cm
