In the middle, Pan and Diana sit on a structure in the shape of a rock with trees. Pan is played by Molière, Diana by Mlle de Béjart. On either side of the rock are the animals that represent the seasons: to the right a horse (spring) and an elephant (summer); to its left a camel (autumn) and a bear (winter). Next to the animals were servants with large bowls on their heads. Three groups of musicians for this scene. In the foreground is the royal party, seen from the back.
