treasure find from Palaiokastron - appliqué in the form of an Eros with Maison mask, gold, chased, gold, total: height: 1.8 cm; width: 1.85 cm; depth: 0.5 cm; weight: 0.75 g, robe decoration, body decoration, theater/opera, history of Cupid, Cupid (Eros), theater costume, mask, early Hellenistic, high Hellenistic, Greek antiquity, Eros, who is directed to the right with spread wings, holds a theater mask in his outstretched hands. Thomas B. L. Webster and Herbert Hoffmann want to recognize Maison, the cook of the New Comedy, in the mask. He probably formed a unit together with the Eroten Inv. 1917.201, 1917.202 and 1925.178. The eyelets served to attach him to a robe or diadem. Together with similar garment appliqués, this piece comes from the Palaiokastron find discovered and excavated in 1909.
