Two lidded cups, Goblet with lid, of the St. Jorisschuttersgilde at Gorinchem, Gilt cup with lid. The cup is composed of separate parts, connected by screws. The goblet consists of the following parts; a: Round foot, resting on three seated lions. The edge of the foot is decorated with a godron moulding. Above that a narrow vertical decorative frame. Above this, a projecting moulding with small godrons. On the curvature in relief three masks in rolwek cartouches. Between them fruit bundles on roughened ground. b: A constricted ring, decorated with godrons. On the outside three attached grotesque volutes. c: A vase-shaped section. On the bottom a six-leaf rosette. Above it godron mouldings and a convex moulding with hippocampi, ridden by naked men. Attached to this frame are animal masks with rings in their mouths. Grotesque volutes are attached to the outside of this section. d: A small section with knerren flaring above and below. e: A similar vase shape, but larger and flatter. Above frames with large and small godrons, a convex frame with three protruding animal masks with an eye for a ring in their mouths (missing). Around these masks a scrollwork cartouche. Between the cartouches fruit bundles on roughened ground. On the outside three attached grotesque volutes. f: The chalice, the vessel of which is undecorated and not gilded. The projecting rim has a large godron moulding. Above it a smooth wall, in which is engraved an inscription: DEES . SIGNED . AS . CONINCXTABLES . INSIDE . GORCVM . IN . HER . TYT . TO . SCHVTTERYS .
