The upper part of the sarcophagus is covered by a fringed cloth. Above is a low broad pedestal, whose front tablet is intended for the inscription. Upon it stands two female allegories embracing each other with the inside arms supporting with the outside hands respectively, a branch and faces. An oval medallion is outlined below in front of them. At right is another suggestion for the group: the pose is changed to make room for the medallion.
