Central scene in which the castle of Castile (Spain) is rammed by the Nordic trestle (Sweden declaring war on the Habsburg monarchy in 1630) and is in danger of perishing in a sea with geese (the Water Beggars or Dutch), whales and the demise of the Spanish Armada (1588). On the land all kinds of animals (sand hares, rabbits and mice) and Roman clergy and princes who regret the downfall of Spain. From heaven the words: Mene mene tekel upharsim. Surrounding the central scene are sixteen small scenes marked A-Q of the cruelty of the Spanish in the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain and against the original population of the 'New World'.
